Summer 2011

CEP 810: Teaching for Understanding with Technology, Instructor: Carolyn McCarthy, Sandra Plair

​This was my first course in the program. The course focused on the integration of web applications and web 2.0 tools in an educational setting.

CEP 811: Adapting Innovative Technology to Education, Instructor: Melissa White

​

The focus of this class was based upon the principles and methods of teaching and how certain problems in education could be successfully addressed with technology applications.

CEP 812: Applying Educational Technology to Practice, Instructor: Tammy Maginity

​

This course continued to address specific problems in educational settings and the implementation of technology applications as solutions to these problems.

Spring

2012

 

CEP 882: Creation and Design of Compelling Experiences, Instructors: E. David Wong, Hannah Klautke

​

​For any person who teaches others, this course was a great way to dig into what and how of creating compelling experiences for others. Throughout the course, there were ample opportunities to analyze different experiences, critique works of art, and finally develop a personal work of art.

TE 846: Accommodating Differences Among Literacy Learners, Instructor: Gary Troia

​

TE 846 was an insightful look into the differences among learners in our classrooms. In this course, students were responsible for a field placement in which lessons related to reading comprehension were taught.

2012

 

CEP 800: Learning In School and Other Settings, Instructors: Danah Henriksen, Ammon Wilcken

​

This course focused on the theories behind the learning process in school, work, and in other settings. Taking this class allowed me to connect different learning theories to my own learning experiences.

CEP 815: Technology and Leadership, Instructors: Luke Rapa, Nick Sheltrown

​

Being a leader in managing technological relationships was a central theme of this course. I was able to take an in depth look at how teaching pedagogy and student learning can change because of their relationship with technology.

CEP 822: Approaches to Educational Research, Instructor: Danah Henriksen

​

This was my first course that involved such organized and developed research. In this course, students were required to choose a topic that had the potential to be problematic or controversial and develop a research proposal.

Fall​

2012

 

CEP 807: Capstone Seminar, Instructors: Matthew Koehler, Josh Rosenberg, Andrea Zellner

​

This is the final course in the MAET program in which students are responsible for developing an online portfolio that represents their progression and success in the MAET program.

CEP 820: Teaching K12 Students Online, Instructors: Anne Heintz, Michelle Hagerman,  Sean Leahy

​

​The premise of this course surrounds teaching students online. The final project involved maintaining a "Developer's Notebook" that tracked module development while simultaneously creating an online course module using a Content Management System.
